The International Day of Girls and Women in Science

The International Day of Girls and Women in Science

On February 11, we celebrate the International Day of Girls and Women in Science. Established by the United Nations it aims at promoting equal access of girls and women to science.

In SUMA, we see a growing number of motivated and excellent female candidates. We are very happy to welcome them in our master programme and empower them to make the science (more) female.

On the occasion of this day, the Department of Materials Engineering at KU Leuven conducted an interview with prof. Martine Wevers (the Head of the Department) and dr. Nicole Dilissen (post-doctoral researcher). Both successful in the field of materials sciences, they discuss together their scientific interests and also encourage other women to follow a career in STEM.

You can find the full interview here.
